Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. Then the men said to Lot, Have you anyone else here?- take them out of this place!
For we will destroy this place, because the the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.
So Lot went out and spoke to his sons- in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city. But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.
When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city. And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.
So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, Escape for your life! DO NOT LOOK BEHIND YOU nor stay anywhere in the plain.
Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.
Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there.
The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar.
Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of heavens. So He overthrew those cities, all plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
BUT HIS WIFE LOOKED BACK BEHIND HIM,
AND SHE BECAME A PILLAR OF SALT.
What kind of life am I living in the light of the impending judgement of God upon this wicked world? God has stretched out His arm to rescue you. Now is the accepted time, Today is the day of salvation. Harden not your heart.
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Cleanse from it’s guilt and power.
Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked come to Thee for dress,
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly,
Wash me Saviour, or I die.
REMEMBER – REPENT – RETURN IN FAITH TO THE LORD.
