Our sins constituted a debt that had to be paid, and the cost of even one sin is death.
No human being can pay the debt for any other person since all, having sinned, are under condemnation. Interestingly, God, who is spirit cannot pay the debt for even one man either, for that requires death, and God, being immortal, cannot die!
But notice and rejoice: the eternal Son of God could do the impossible, having become a human being – God and Man at the same time! He, our Lord Jesus,
“for a little while was made lower than the angels…. so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone“. He could taste death for us because, although He was “in every respect ….. tempted as we are, yet (He is) without sin “. As the sinless one, He was able to be the “Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world“.
He thus is able “to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession who are zealous for good works“.
He accomplishes the impossible!
Would you accept Him as your personal saviour and Lord God by accepting what He has done for you?
